What is Cosog Nepal?

Cosog Nepal, also known as Coding for Social Good, began in November 2022 in Kathmandu, Nepal. It's a student-led non-profit that aims to promote Computer Science Education and CS clubs in Nepal. The main idea is to help students start and run Computer Science clubs in secondary and high schools, especially in remote areas. This helps create a community of young people who are excited about technology.

The Start of Cosog Nepal

The idea for Cosog Nepal came from Bibek, who is the president. When he was a STEM instructor, he noticed that even though high schools in Nepal were expanding, there wasn't much focus on technology from 9th grade onwards. This meant students were missing out on important tech experiences like hackathons and coding competitions.

The Vision

Bibek, along with Aashish and five high school graduates, started Cosog Nepal. Our goal was to bring technology and innovation into high schools starting from 9th grade. This would open up opportunities for students to learn, compete, and grow in the field of technology.

What Cosog Nepal Does

Cosog Nepal helps high school students set up and function CS clubs. We want to develop young innovators who are good with technology and can make a difference in their communities. Our activities include networking events with tech experts, coding competitions, and the 'Coding for Charity' program. We also run workshops to teach practical coding skills and keep up with the latest tech trends.

The Big Goal

The main aim of Cosog Nepal is to make students passionate about technology. We want to give them the skills and knowledge to make positive changes in the world. Cosog Nepal is about creating future leaders who can use technology to help society.
